Our client requires an IT Network and Infrastructure Manager to join their Exeter-based organisation on a full-time, permanent basis. As part of the IT Help Desk function, which provides networking, telecommunications, desktop and server infrastructure and advice to the IT Steering Group, the role will involve logging, diagnosis and rectifying of all calls passed through the call logging service, as well as managing the delivery of IT Infrastructure and Voice projects throughout the organisation. You will also be responsible for ensuring back up and security for data.
Hours are Monday – Friday, 8.00am – 5.00pm, with an hour for lunch. Some weekend infrastructure work to be offset by negotiation from weekday hours.
- Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, you will liaise with the Head of IT and external consultants to identify faults and repair equipment and systems working with manufacturers and their agents as appropriate
- Engage with end users to support the IT Infrastructure and resolve complex issues and provide advice and guidance
- Ensure that users of Information Communication Technology are provided with a high-quality support service
- Work to high standards of safety and accountability to ensure all ICT related services operate effectively with the minimum risk of downtime
- Contribute in the development of new information systems, and any necessary expansions
- Exercise a broad understanding of Information and Technology including networking solutions, and data security issues using experience and educational knowledge to achieve this
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and communication skills and have the ability to work without the need for close supervision, supervise workload for more junior staff or contractors, contribute to reports which communicate complex issues to personnel who are not necessarily IT literate
- 5 GCSE grade C or above
- Computing Qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent) or suitable experience
- Significant experience of Data Network Support, Management and Administration of Directory Services and GPO
- Significant experience managing Firewalls and content filtering
- Significant experience of current Network Operating Systems e.g. Microsoft Windows Server and Linux
- Significant experience of Helpdesk support for office based applications
- SharePoint Online support & development
- Excellent knowledge and experience of Office365
- Significant experience of Azure Active Directory
- Ability to manage own workload
- Demonstrate organisational ability and work well in a team environment
- Excellent problem solving and a positive attitude to work
- Flexible in approach to work and a willingness to learn
