This is an excellent opportunity to join an award-winning organisation as IT Systems Engineer. The main purpose of the role is to assist the Deputy IT Manager in day-to-day operations; monitoring and maintenance of core ICT infrastructure, ensuring the availability, security, integrity, and continual development of its systems. You will also provide support to senior members of staff by preparing specifications, designs, procedures and other documentation when required. The successful candidate will ideally have a BTEC/ NVQ IT Level 3 or equivalent, and experience within a technical service environment.

- As part of the IT Systems team, you will support the day-to-day operations, monitoring & maintenance of the organisations core IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, databases, VoIP, cloud, backup, desktop management and web technologies
- Assist in the design, implementation, & documentation, of IT systems in accordance with the Quality Assurance policies, departmental standards and ITIL framework
- Ensure IT security & patch management policies and procedures are followed in accordance with Cyber Essentials best practice & supporting the senior IT team in the event of a Cyber Security attack or data breach
- Provide training of new or updated system/technologies to the first line team
- Liaise with other units, departments, and contractors to facilitate improved interoperability between applications, services and infrastructure
- Support users, and seek solutions to their specific needs, in accordance with the support service standards
- Provide out of hours support, sometimes at short notice, when required as the result of system failures or deployment programmes
- Working in a technical service environment supporting server and network technology
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Server / Desktop operating systems
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and documentation skills
- BTEC / NVQ IT Level 3 or equivalent
- Ability to liaise with end users and technical support staff to solve technical problems
- Able to use own initiative and work independently, but with the ability to work to create co-operative and productive partnerships with other staff
