Fantastic opportunity to join a high profile Exeter based Law Firm in a structured and well supported Trainee Legal Assistant (Trainee Equity Release) role. You will join the team in a support capacity and receive training on how to open and close files, process all of the administration in relation to Equity Release cases and progress in to a Case Handler role.
This is a fast paced and high volume role, so whilst you do not need specific experience, you will need to be a competent administrator who is confident and professional when dealing with business contacts and customers over the phone.
An interest in developing a career within law would be a distinct advantage as the firm are open to supporting both study and further qualifications. Induction and training will be a mix of Covid safe office base developing into a mix of home and office.
- Provide support with clerical and administrative duties to the Fee Earners, Legal Support Co-ordinator and Senior LSAs.
- Demonstrate efficiency by carrying out these duties accurately and on time.
- Assist with file management responsibilities for the Fee Earners, opening and closing files
- Maintain detailed and accurate database records using their inhouse Case Management System
- Liaise with customers over the telephone, advising of next steps and keeping them informed of progress
- Assist with the billing process.
- Sourcing Land Registry records and transferring the data to the customer file
- Issuing Documents to customers
- A great communicator with previous customer service experience
- Competent and efficient administrator, organised even when under pressure
- IT savvy, comfortable using MS Office and in-house systems, able to learn new software with ease
- An interest in Law, keen to build a career within the legal industry
- Discrete, able to deal with confidential information
- Empathetic, able to adapt customer service skills according to the needs of their customers
- Bright, confident, switched on and team focused
