Private Client Lawyer Job Description
As a Private Client Lawyer, your focus will be to work with and support the best interests of individual clients, whether this relates to will writing, estate planning, power of attorney and wealth management or contentious private client work such as probate and disputed wills & trusts work. You may be working with clients who have experienced the loss of a loved one, or who are arranging legacy matters, amongst other things.

- Handle a variety of cases including Wills, Probates, Power of Attorney, Trust and Inheritance Tax
- Staying up to date with legal precedents and case law in order to provide current and relevant advice to your clients.
- Working with sensitivity with your clients to understand their specific circumstances, requirements and preferences.
- Actively engaging in business development and networking activities with IFAs, wealth and property management professionals in order to generate referrals and increase workflows.
- Handling emotive and complex work with the utmost professionalism and sensitivity.
- Licensed to practice law in the UK, with two or more years’ PQE within private practice.
- Experience of working with a range of individuals on private client matters including wills, estate planning and probate.
- A genuine commitment to the highest standards of client care, being sensitive to the situation of each individual you are working with.
- Interest and enthusiasm in engaging with business development activities, recognising the importance of creating referral networks to support private client work generation.
- An effective communicator with a collaborative approach to team working and supporting less experienced colleagues.
