Are we facing an epidemic with sick policies?

It’s been really interesting to see how the working world has changed since the pandemic, in more ways than one! And in a recent survey from Softworks.com, it seems more people are finding it harder than ever to take sick days whilst working from home or remotely.

We must address this disparaging gap between employers and employees! With 96% saying their organisational culture affects their decision in taking a sick day, something has to change.

84% said they shouldn’t be working when sick, but 79% also said they felt the pressure to do so.

While yes, it’s probably easier now to work from home, and better for the team, while struggling with a cold - but just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

When polled on our Linkedin, 63% of people felt that it was time for a review of sick policies, while 12% felt they were fine as they are.

With more employees looking for better benefits and stronger culture, it could be time to shake up your sick policy and make it fit for the working world today.
