EXETER, 13th January 2022: Cathedral Appointments, Exeter’s leading independent recruitment consultancy, today welcomes Clodagh Murphy to the team as Director.

Clodagh’s appointment has strengthened the business’ senior team and board. Her role will focus on spearheading the strategic support systems which aim to accelerate Cathedral Appointment’s growth plans for 2022 and beyond.

When discussing the company’s future and the appointment of Clodagh, Jo Caine, Managing Director for Cathedral Appointments, commented:

“I have known Clodagh for many years having recruited her to join the Exeter Chamber Board in 2016.

“Over the last few years, we have spoken regularly about Cathedral Appointments and my plans for the future. We clicked immediately, and the visions and passions I had for the business resonated a lot with Clodagh’s values.

“It grew very quickly from there and after a brief period of consulting for Cathedral Appointments, the decision was made that Clodagh would come on board full-time as a Director to support my mission for the company.

Cathedral Appointments is growing and plans to add an additional five team members this year to meet the current demands of clients and as it branches into new markets. The company also holds ambitious targets to double in size by 2025.

Jo added:

“This next stage for Cathedral Appointments is extremely exciting. We’ll be taking the business into brand new territories as well as expanding upon the incredible expertise we already have. I couldn’t think of a better person to support this next phase than Clodagh.”

Clodagh is a business leader, holding over two decades’ worth of experience in the tech and IT sectors. Her career began in 1996 working in San Francisco for a Mutual Fund Company, Montgomery Asset Management. Clodagh then moved back to her home city, Dublin where she spent four years in a variety of roles for eircom, the incumbent telecommunications provider. In 2003, Clodagh relocated to the UK and has had several leadership roles in Tech and IT Services businesses, including KCOM Group PLC, where she progressed to Managing Director of Eclipse Internet and grew that business from £20m to £40m turnover.

Clodagh has also held, and continues to hold, numerous Non-Executive Directorship and Chair roles in the Exeter region across a variety of industries. One thing that her board roles have in common is her passion for helping other budding entrepreneurs and business leaders excel in their career journey.

Speaking about her Director role with Cathedral Appointments, Clodagh said:

“Having started my career in San Francisco, I have been very fortunate to develop and grow in a variety of sectors and roles in a number of countries.  My career in Tech has been incredibly rewarding and challenging in equal measure and I’ve felt for a while that a move into a sector that was more people-focused would be the right step me.  When Jo and I started to work closely together, it became clear quickly that our values and business ethos are very aligned, and we both care passionately about the same things.

“I am truly excited to be joining such a prestigious company. Cathedral Appointments is a name that is well known in the Exeter region and one that is well-respected. The vision for the company in the next year is a fast-paced one, but one that will undoubtedly add another dimension to an already brilliant business. I look forward to getting stuck in.”
